Hi-Desert Star Column #195

Our little Community’s “Movie under the Stars” event last Saturday night, was another huge success and featured the deliciously creepy sci-fi thriller “Tarantula”. We are going to suspend these movie nights until February or so; when the evenings begin to warm up again. Unless, we decide to show the Movies inside the Center for the chilly months. What do you think? Your overwhelming enthusiasm would certainly persuade us.

We are holding our monthly Potluck Party at the Center today; starting around 4pm. The theme is Halloween, so bring something orange, black, spooky or all of the above! I am making a melange of Butternut squash; grown in our very own pesticide-free garden. Hope to see you there; costumes are encouraged!

Next week, November 1st, we are putting on our spectacular, monthly, first-Saturday Pancake Breakfast. This is also the second weekend of the Art Tours, so we heartily encourage you to join us for a scrumptious “best Breakfast you ever had”, after which, your tummy will be happy for hours, as you tour our beautiful Morongo Basin and feast your eyes on all the incredible Art created by an abundance of gifted Artists.

Later that same day, on Saturday November 1st, from 1-5pm, Art Students from Copper Mountain College will be hosting a reception at the Glass Outhouse Gallery, on Highway 62 in beautiful Wonder Valley, to introduce you to the incredible Art Work by Students of CMC; under the expert guidance of our Mentor: Professor Cathy Allen. This too is during the second weekend of the Art Tours, so please come and see us; we can’t wait to show you our stuff! CMC Art Students are so proud to be invited back, to share and show our creations at the Amazing Glass Outhouse Gallery. Thank you Lauren and Frank; we love You!

Actually, our Show will be on display throughout the month of November. Students will be at the Gallery every weekend from 1-5pm, to meet and greet you; answer any questions and tell you about the local Copper Mountain College we are all so proud to attend. Stay well!
