Hi-Desert Star Column #244, October 17, 2015

Our little Community’s Board members got together for the monthly Copper Mountain Mesa Association meeting, held on the second Saturday of every month, from 10am. The Board appointed two new members to fill recently vacated seats and we extend a hearty welcome to Mike Casey and Ken Sitz. Welcome aboard; we are so grateful and honored to have you in our midst.

Our Board of Directors - Isn't Annalies boardacious?
Mary Helen Tuttle, Treasurer of the CMMCA, informed us that our “magic swiper” is arriving any day now. Many thanks to Board member David King for researching and purchasing this technological marvel and thanks also to Mary Helen for taking care of the practical necessities to allow this thing to work. Basically, what this means to our Neighbors and Guests at the Community Center, is that if you arrive for Breakfast and realize you didn’t bring cash; or you simply must have an item in the Treasure Room but you only brought plastic: hakuna matata; no worries mate! We will have our handy-dandy “magic swiper” for your purchasing convenience: yay!

We're gettin' there!
The October M.A.C meeting, is the second one in a row that several Copper Mountain Mesa Community Association Board members will attend; regarding the state of Mesa roads and the possibility of re-establishing the Road Commission. We used to have a rockin’ Road Commission, back in the day, but, over the years it became dismembered...no, unmembered? Anyhooo: those were the days when the association had five hundred enthusiastically participating Members. Nowadays? Not nearly so many: actually, waaaay less! Perhaps the re-establishment of the Road Commission will rally the troops and give us all something in common to focus on and be a part of.

On Saturday October 17, we will present “Them!” at the final, Desert-themed “Movie under the Stars” Night for the season; the gathering begins around sunset.

USDA Food Give-away is at the Community Center, on Monday, October 19th 2015, from 8:30am. Bill Treas and his all-Volunteer Crew are happy to help you.

Tuesday Night Bingo will not be happening in November or December; as unanimously agreed upon by our Bingo enthusiasts. Stay well!
