CMMCA supports road maintenance

VOTE YES to fund CSA 70 R-19

Ballots will be mailed out MON MAY 11 and are due by SAT JUN 6

WHAT is being proposed?

Our roads are covered by County Service Area 70 R-19 Copper Mountain, which was formed by property owners in 1986.

All property owners in CSA 70 R-19 currently pay a $20 fee per parcel. This is the only source of funding to repair our rods.

There is a ballot proposal to increase this annual fee to $75 per parcel, subject to an annual inflation adjustment (up to 3% per year).

WHICH roads are in the district?

The boundaries of CSA 70 R-19 are:
Border Ave. to the west
Giant Rock Rd./Montezuma to the north
Shoshone Valley Rd. to the east
La Brisa Dr./Old Chisholm Trl. to the south

Some roads in this boundary are:
Winters
Poleline
Friendship
Lear
Coyote Valley (Sunfair Hill)
Sonora
Mt Shadow
La Brisa
Moonlight Mesa
Telford
Olson

The fee has not been increased since CSA 70 R-19 was established 40 years ago.

When the district was created in 1986, funding was intended to cover both regular road maintenance and storm cleanup.

Today, the unchanged $20 fee barely emergency grading after major storms; routine maintenance has become a thing of the past.

If the increase is not approved, service levels will continue to decline. The county. CSA 70 R-19 could ultimately be dissolved, leaving our community with no dedicated funding for road repair or maintenance whatsoever.

WHY vote for the increase?
